Thermographic system is commonly used for electrical inspections. As electrical connections become loose, there is a resistance to current that can cause an increase in temperature. This temperature increase can then cause component to fail, potentially resulting in unplanned shutdown and injuries. In addition, the efficiency of an electrical grid becomes low prior to failure, thus energy is spent generating heat, causing unnecessary losses. If left unchecked, heat can rise to the point that can melt connection and break the circuit; as a result, fire may occur. Beside loose connections, electrical system suffers from load imbalance, corrosion, and increase in impedance to current. Thermography can quickly locates hot spots, determines the severity of the problem, and helps establish the time frame in which the equipment should be repaired. INFRARED FOR ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS THERMOGRAPHY Inspections Thermography Locate Hot spot at phase T; Temperature °150.7 C TRANSFORMER BUSHING CONNECTIONS Hot spot at phase T because contact resistance too high (Need Retightened) After Being Retightened. All three phase connection almost have the same temperature INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY FOR MECHANICAL INSPECTIONS A big temperature difference of identical motor under identical load ( PROBLEM) PT Jalamas Berkatama uses High resolution FLIR infrared cameras utilizing the ThermaCAM Professional reporter software to efficiently produce a high quality report detailing all problem found, and can determine the level of severity and recommended repairs. By using a ITC level I and II thermographer you can be assured that the infrared inspection is performed in a safe manner by a qualified thermographer who has the experience and training to identify the problem and in some cases solves the problem before leaving the job site. Infrared thermography can be applied in any situation where a problem or condition can reveal itself by means of a thermal difference. When inspecting the condition of electrical distribution equipment thermographer can “see” heat with an infrared camera. For example, sliding and bolted connections can become resistive through loosening, corrosion, etc.
Infrared thermography scanning can: • Significantly reduce unscheduled power outages • Detect problem quickly without interrupting service • Asses priorities for corrective action • Comply with insurance company requirement
WE PROVIDE THERMOGRAPHY INSPECTION FOR:
